NED Alumni Convention 2013
There is a lot of confusion about this year’s NED Alumni Convention. Where is it going to be? When? It is almost the end of February and we don’t know much about the date or the venue of NED Alumni Convention 2013. The other day I was talking to a friend based in the UAE; he wanted to attend this year’s convention and apply for the US visa--it is currently taking 4-6 months for the US to process visa applications of Pakistan citizens. I asked him to apply for the US visa after registering for the convention, so that he would have something to show to the consulate. But he cannot register for the convention because no web site has been created for this year’s NEDian Convention.

My Dear Ali Hasan - it is still hard me to call you Cemendtaur (old habits die hard). There is the www.NEDian.org website (supposedly the umbrella organization of all NED alumni associations) which has a link to '13 Alumni Convention, but alas no info. I asked it's webmaster who happened to be Sabahat Ashraf and this person didn't know either. Actually, he/she (I am not sure about the person's gender) directed me to your bolg. So at least something good came out of it, now I know where your blog is. If you find out anything new, do let me know as well. Who do you remember making the announcement in Washington DC about NED Convention 2013 to take place in the Silicon Valley? [Rashid Ali Baig? Tanweer Alam Mallick?] Kindly communicate with them. Please also note the changes in the NED Silicon Valley elected officials (Mike Zaidi, Imran Qureshi, and Nisar Ali) since the Washington DC 2012 NED Alumni Convention. The new officers are Terry Andrade, Nisar Ali, and Misbah Azam. Please make your inquiry to these new officials.
Now we have some idea of the dates of NED Alumni Convention 2013. The organizers are closing in on Friday, October 11, Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2013. We still do not know the venue.
Here is the latest.
NED-SV group has excused itself from holding this year's Alumni Convention in San Francisco Bay Area. There is a good chance that there will no NED Alumni Convention this year.
